Venue: First Baptist Church & Lowndes Grove
From the moment I met with Coley and Michael and their design team, their vision never really wavered. They knew what they wanted: white and green and gold – classic, timeless, elegant. A pop of thistle – something unexpected (and our groom’s very favorite “bloom,” if you will). For Coley, that meant an all white bouquet with a whisper of thistle as her something blue. For Michael, that meant some festive plaid trousers, a call to his European roots. For the couple, that meant a church wedding and a reception along the Ashley River with gorgeous table settings and a neon sign bearing their first dance words “Days Like This.” A little bit of that wedding flavor with a hint of pizzazz. Y’all, it was such a fun vibe to pull together. And October’s Indian summer finally gave way on October 25, 2019, allowing cool breezes off the dock. A sunlit 3 p.m. ceremony, and guests were on to Lowndes Grove to enjoy champagne and toasts throughout the night. It’s weddings like this that make you remember why you started it all in the first place. Because sometimes it’s just too obvious why classic prevails. It’s so darn pretty. Thanks to the Sweetgrass Social team for tapping me to be a part of this gorgeous day!
