Playing with dried product is a passion. That paper-color gives each piece a feeling of being well-worn like an old glove. Maybe my passion was born from this huge basket of dried hydrangeas my mother had in our living room as a child. They would flutter, losing little petals, if we were to run by them in our barefeet, but they were home. So, dried pieces are just that, coming home. And playing them against a palette of cornhusk and cognac in the Lowcountry is so inspiring to me. It’s unique, and classic, all rolled into one.
